I usually keep only one version on the secondary hd of same machine. If the clue is to save image to an external device it should be adviced.

I assume something happened but indeed AOMEI always worked as I flaw in the same condition. I wonder what was the problem because I REALLY would like to go on using Macrium.

I had 90% of my data on secondary HD so they are safe. On the same hd I had my backup image. I don't know how much space I have in that disk, but if macrium "uncompress" image in the disk where it is...

As the other one seems like the mechanical drive at one time shuts off but I think is the process which stucks so the the drive stops since it's work is not required.

tnx Caledon. no disk problems. just installed some software which messed up the system. the target partitions is what is greyed.
samuria thank you for your answer. I followed your advice. powered off and boot winpe again. As I remembered there are actually no partitions, it's all greyed and Macrìum is unable to delete...
