It's been well over several minutes already, but it's popped up to 28% now. As long as it's not stuck on 1%, I know it's moving through it.
Okay it turns out that when my laptop said "I'mma reboot now," what it meant was "I'mma shut down now." Power button has restored life, and I am currently resetting Windows. Currently at 1%, where...
Yeah, it occurred to me that the hard disk not being replaced correctly was most likely. I'm not sure what happened, but I just gave the little ribbon thing that connects it to the mobo a bit of a...
I don't spend my leisure time on here, so this is the first time I've seen it mentioned but as I said in my previous post there are a mere handful of files I was temporarily storing on my desktop and...
I cannot find anything on how to make CDI bootable, only different places to download it.
Don't even know what that means, but other than the handful of files that happen to be on the desktop at...
Started a System Restore. Wandered off to do other things. Came back, laptop was off.
Now I get a "starting automatic repair" or something like that below the Lenovo logo in the opening splash...
I have a TrueNAS box connected to my network, which for some reason seems to cause programs to stop responding when they interact with it. Trying to encode to/from it with Adobe Media Encoder is...
Clicking on the text box in the edit window on mobile DELETES THE POST. I've had to type this out three times now.
No fresh install, just an upgrade. Browser save dialog now fine, probably fell...
Rebooting seems to fix it, temporarily, then it breaks again. Seems to mostly focus on the two NAS devices I have hooked up to the network, but not exclusively. As of right now, any attempt to access...
Oh no, that sucks.
Finally got around to "upgrading" from Win7 to Win10 Pro (22H2), but it won't activate. It keeps throwing errors, most recently 0x803fa067.
Anyone?
The drives just dropped again, this time while only reading.
Can anyone help with this?
I still haven't resolved this.
It seems it's triggered by writing to the drives. They're hosting my media server and I'm able to watch content from them with no issues, but as soon as I try...
Rebooted, they came back for a few days, then disappeared again...
Not sure how to eliminate the splitter as a potential cause.
So...after several months of everything working fine, my drives dropped off the face of the earth again.
Hmm. Weird. It's suddenly disappeared now.
Yes, the issue occurs on the laptop as well.
I can't edit the owner because it says I don't have the required Restore permission.
I'm bypassing the Recycle Bin via Shift-Delete, so I can't see...
I'm on a Windows 7 desktop at the moment, working with an external USB drive connected to my Windows 10 laptop. I have it shared via the network.
Every time I delete the file, it seems to delete,...
Yes. That's the only way I could get them back at all, the computer was completely refusing to recognise them otherwise.
I plugged the thumb drive into a USB port, left the HDD in the splitter,...
I've got them plugged into a laptop and then connected via network to a desktop. I keep getting errors when trying to copy about 20GB of files from the desktop to the laptop. I've had several...
Three of the ports have yellow exclamation marks, but they're not about missing drivers. They all say "port reset failed".
I tested plugging the drives into another port, without the splitter, and it still didn't work. The drives do spin up, but nothing shows up in Disk Management or My Computer.
It's a Lenovo...something or other. Not sure.
It does keep popping up a message saying it recommends I install a BIOS update, but when I click "OK" nothing happens.
I've got two USB hard drives...
I have a USB hard drive plugged into a Win10 laptop, that I'm accessing on a Win7 machine via a wireless network. It kept dropping out for a couple of seconds here or there, then went completely...
