Maybe the problem is that the E: partition is marked as Active & System. Is it worth changing that?

So, if I understand correctly, for the sake of this windows update, the priority would be to just remove ZoneAlarm and try to do the update again?

I don't use any encryption. I use only ZoneAlarm Free Firewall. Never had problems downloading Windows Updates with it before.
