Problem solved in firmware beta 07.01-65014.

Had contact with AVM, the manufacturer of the Fritzbox, and got confirmed this is a known bug, which is supposed to be fixed in the latest beta firmware. I will check this out and get back to you.

I spent some more time with this problem, and made the following observations:

The owner of the .tmp backup file is the owner of the enclosing directory, given by an SID. This is the same SID...

I didn't explicitly update, so I guess only the updates from Windows Update were installed.
