Yeah, good thing they provide a setting.
I tested the Emsisoft extension with some new phishing and malware links and it blocked them all. However, my Bitdefender AV Free Edition was also blocking them at the same time. Since Traffic Light...
Good to know. Also, the one from MB covers a lot more Web threats compared to the Emsisoft one (although I don't care for their click-bait and fake news blocking filter bubble.)
The Emsisoft one...
Hello Dick, I've not tried that extension myself. Presently, I'm giving the one from Emsisoft a shot. I don't know how effective it is but I like their privacy-oriented approach.
NEW! Emsisoft...
Only you can answer that question. My recommendation is that you keep it as a second opinion scanner for when you might need it. It's not gonna take up any resources when you're not running it....
Just to clarify...
When using the Free edition and when you're done performing a scan, close the main program window. Then, right-click the system tray icon and choose 'Quit Malwarebytes.' This is...
I'm glad you've sorted out your MBAM issues. Regarding the Malwarebytes Service, we had a conversation about it some time back...

I guess MB a.k.a. MBAM is going through an identity crisis :D
That's what I presumed going by the way they started promoting it. MBAM (Correction: MB - Since they've dropped the Anti-Malware part in the UI) works in mysterious ways
Lol!
I think they are referring to the Windows Defender Security Center.

Nothing. Personal preference for an on-demand scanner ;)
Well, that sucks! Maybe it has to do with the Windows Action Center setting...

AFAIK MBAM would turn off WD in Security Center only if using the Premium version or if the 14-day Free Trial was underway. Was the free-trial forced during the update despite deactivating MBAM...
That's a glitch with MBAM settings post update. The fix is fairly simple...

After you do this, MBAM will not start with Windows when set to Off.
