When I found my self in this situation, I did a reinstallation of windows 10 (https://support.microsoft.com/...p/4000735/windows-10-reinstall) and during the process I chose to KEEP DATA AND APPS....
You simply were lucky if this is the first time an update fails. There's always the first time.
The problem is that some failed updates prevent future updates to install. Sometimes a failed update...
As long as you can see any items in the updates history, means that your computer was not updated. After updating to 1803 your updates history will be empty.
