I do use have VLC. The main reason why I'm asking is I like to preview the video in windows explorer before opening it up. Without the WMV able to play in WMP it won't preview.

I ended up just doing a fresh install and moving my data and files from windows.old.

It was on C drive. I don’t know what went wrong lol. Maybe some virus or malware I don’t know lol.

I tried doing this but I can't save files or settings. Error says Windows is installed on an unsupported directory.

Any fixes for this? I searched Google and nothing has worked thus far.

I'm catching this error with almost all of my apps. I can't open word, adobe reader, windows media player and I can't uninstall or install apps/programs.

I'm trying to close my HD to an SSD with AOMEI Partition Assistant. It errored out right at the end with Error Code 5. It could not lock the volume. I rebooted...

That's exactly what it did. On initial startup it did "scanning hardware" and "loading drivers" for 5-10 minutes and that was it. Was actually pretty painless.

The HD I want to use has legacy BIOS and Standard SATA.

The computer I want to put it in at UFEI BIOS and Intel Series 8 Chipset family SATA ACHI Controller.
