    I made sure I did an image back up of my computer so if anything gets messed up I cam recover my system. From what you detailed about your system crash, it doesn't look good.

    On of the fixes was to uninstall the codex driver...

    On of the fixes was to uninstall the codex driver then update it. I tried that but still no sound. So I rolled back to
    windows 7 and when there I got no sound at all from PC Mode or Game Mode(TV)....

    I I reciently upraded to window 10. I no longer hace sound in the game mode of the monitor. I have my verizon
    FIOS TV plugged into the HDMI port of the monitor so I can watch TV and switch back...
