Not really, no. The problem is still sporadic but I've started to suspect that it may be a hardware problem, perhaps in addition to a software problem. So I'll just limp along as best I can until I...
That was the whole point, I was doing data maintenance for work prior to backing the whole drive up for archival. It exploded into a million pieces before I could do that.
Anyhow, recovered what...
Just used Puran File Recovery to get at least some of it back since it was the only program I can find that will recover in directories, not just files. There's still a ton left that it cannot find...
I did. I don't care if I lost what I was working on so long as the source files survived. But this is thousands and thousands and thousands of files.
It's not that it can't recover the files, it also has to organize the files which every single other recovery program doesn't do. That's why I asked how EaseUS operates.
There's plenty of data on the disk. What vanished was every single folder that was open and being used at the time. Everything else is still there.
Which unfortunately won't work. There are hundreds of folders, all with hundreds of files within them that I need kept in those folders. I have no means of sorting them out manually.
How does it recover? Will it recover specific folders or will it attempt to recover everything regardless of how old? Because I have other programs that will do that and that's a complete disaster...
I'm running DMDE right now, but Testdisk was the next on my list to try. It isn't just picture and video files that went missing, those are just the most essential that I recover. Thanks.
I did. It only wants to give back raw, unfiltered, unsorted data. I have also tried IOBit Undelete, which found no files to recover at all. I've also tried Pandora, which again, wants to recover...
It hasn't been. Not one byte has been written to that drive. And I ran a complete disk scan, there is nothing wrong with the physical disk, not a single error anywhere. This is software, not...
Yesterday, I was working on a video file off one of my drives. It was looking wonky so I rebooted Windows and about half of the data on that drive vanished. This is essential data for work that is...
Hopefully not, so far so good at least. Normally, I can reset it to Google and the next time I open a new tab, it resets to Bing but that doesn't seem to be happening right now. It never opened up...
The nuclear option does seem to have worked, at least it hasn't reverted back to Bing yet. I'm going to mess around with it for a little bit to see if this has it fixed. Thanks.
Nope, didn't help. Totally fried Firefox, reinstalled the 64-bit, Bing is still there.
Did, the Lavasoft site was in there, deleted it, reset everything, rebooted... Bing is back.
This is driving me crazy. I might just completely trash Firefox, install the 64-bit version and see if...
Yeah, if it was easy, I wouldn't be posting here. Something really bizarre is going on and I have no clue what it might be. Thanks for trying at least.
Deleted Bing again, reset to Google, reinstalled, told it to leave current settings since it won't let you default to Google within the installation. Uninstalled. Rebooted. Restarted Firefox. ...
No, it didn't, it was uninstalled after I ran Farbar but it had no effect on the problem.
I already did.
What the heck, did that too. Didn't change a thing.
Here you go. All three.

I actually went through it all and there was nothing that stuck out. I had it reset everything under Firefox and there wasn't anything under malware.
Here it is:
