Can't believe I'm the only one seeing this. I've been through several Windows versions since my original post. 1709, 1803, 1809 and now...
First, yes I know I'm replying to an old thread. But I'm the OP and this exact same problem still exists for me today, despite having gone through several Windows versions (1803, 1809, 1903; in my OP...
When I reformat my computer, I have created batch files that automate the process and install all drivers and software without user intervention. This requires silent install switches.
With this...
Anyone has a silent install switch for this new driver though (1.6.13.0400)? I tried everything I could think of and no switch made the install silent.
Also noticed that C:\AMD contains several...
I take back my words, it is specifically KB4052623 which turns Tamper protection mode off, not KB2267602. I got things mixed up because both KB2267602 and KB4052623 are typically offered as Windows...
For me, Tamper protection consistently turns off when installing Windows Defender updates (KB2267602). Immediately after updating if you check tamper protection it is off, when it was on before.

Aha! you might be on to something. I'll reformat/clean install again tonight or tomorrow and test this out.
EDIT:
Ok I was too curious and had to try right now, and unfortunately this didn't...
Another example: I installed the January 2018 "Security Update for Adobe Flash Player" via .msu, yet Windows update insists that I need to install the December 2017 "Security patch for Adobe Flash...
I reformat and clean-reinstall Windows roughly on a monthly basis. Now using the Windows 10 1709 iso for this purpose.
I have all auto-updates turned off (Windows 10 Pro) via group policy editor....

Could also be waking on detecting activity from the network, or waking by "magic packet".
(If that's the case, you could consider yourself lucky as many people have no luck in getting this feature...
After testing many more times (always 1709 clean installs), as I wrote in my previous post this issue always goes away by itself for me. My previous observation was that the issue resolved by itself...
Hmmm... it doesn't for me. When I delete a file from Everything Search's results, it does go to the Recycle bin. (Just tested it right now to confirm before posting)
+1
Everything Search is by far the best search utility available right now. Try it, I'm sure you won't go back.
To add to my previous post Clean install of Fall Creators Update and State Repository Service
this appears to be the case.
I reformatted and re-installed Windows and this time didn't run any...
Same here, nothing works consistently.
If I reformat and reinstall Windows, none of the fixes will work right away. But eventually the Powershell script will work, usually the next day.
I'm...
Yes, clean install is what I always do: Boot from Windows install media (USB drive), reformat target drive, install Windows from scratch.
Sadly, I tried without the ethernet cable connected this...
Well, surprise, surprise, this is no longer working for me after reformatting and re-installing Windows 10.
So it must have been a combination of this fix, and whatever else I had previously tried...
Thanks a lot, I confirm this works for me, despite the powershell command throwing an error towards the end of it's routine (it processes many packages and I suspect the error only affects one of...
