Where would I find that in the Device Manager?
1. That the troubleshooter cannot be run in Safe Mode with Networking
2. WLAN was run and restarted it.
3. The wireless protocol is indeed 802.11
Not sure what an NIC is.
None of these worked to get internet access in safe mode with networking. Also, rebooting my pc and going into Chrome worked for a few seconds when scrolling but then went back to the way it’s been...
Trying to remedy the scrolling problem with my Chrome browser by going into Safe Mode with Networking, but no WiFi networks appear when I do this. Why would this happen?

The same thing happened with Firefox and Edge when I tried it. I don’t have another mouse to use to try this with.
Yes, a mouse wheel.
a. Responding poorly to using a mouse. No, it doesn’t work when I try that.
b. The mouse isn’t the problem because I was able to use it normally and the browser was working...
Browsers are running slow (especially Chrome). I have tried several different things to remedy this problem (clearing cookies/cache on Chrome) resetting network settings (I also rebooted several...
Denis, no display driver is not available, but the BIOS update is.

I disabled some of the startup processes and partly uninstalled one of them (Aimersoft). Saw one that says NA (not sure what that is, so I disabled). Let's see what happens now.

I've been hesitant to post about this for some time as I thought it was just an isolated incident, but this has been happening for some time now (several months). I thought it would correct itself...
Odd. I clicked Details (Descending is checked) I then clicked "Large Icons", refreshed the folder and the files and folders are now sorted correctly.:confused:
When I click on Sort By, it says Ascending and Descending but they're grey'd out and I can't click on either one.
No, the folders I had towards the bottom before I upgraded to 1903 are still at the top and continue to stay at the top no matter what I try to do.
When I do Group By (none) it automatically refreshes and I am unable to sort the folder how I want it.
Yep, 1903. But doing that didn't reset the folder to how I wanted it and like it was before I updated 1903.

Before I updated the OS so it’s supported, my Downloads folder was sorted so that the newest files were shown at the top. I have tried to make it that way again, but Windows keeps refreshing it so...
zbook, I was able to save all my files using the Reset PC option and reinstall Windows. Thanks for all the advice.

Hardware tests passed. Booted into normal Safe Mode no problem. I assume you meant for me to choose the 1st option Safe Mode.
It just started happening about 35 minutes prior to posting this (It was working normally up until this happened). I was burning a dvd and the pc attempted to shut down, but I kept mashing the escape...
I'm not sure. I'd have to check. Like I said above, I haven't used it in at least 10 years when I had a laptop with Vista on it.
I have an old Maxtor II external that is full but I don’t have a Windows comp/laptop with an OS that can support it to view the files on it anymore. I believe it was formatted for Vista the last time...
Yeah, sorry about that. I'm not sure which option I'll choose.

What’s the best way to speed up a slow PC without using any of the conventional methods, i.e. downloading optimizers, disk cleanup, restore/factory reset, etc.?
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks!...
Not sure. The files were ripped off of a bootleg disc my friend gave me to burn copies from. This is the first time I'm experiencing this kind of problem. I've never experienced it before.

Why would I not have access to the file(s) I'm trying to upload? My user profile is set for Administrative privileges. Anyway, here are the screenshots. Also, I have updated the thread title as I...
