So I dont need the xml file on my external hd with the ssd images?
Its ok that, xml is on my PC>Documents, and the SSD images are on my external HD?
I presume I need to keep the xml files?
Every Sunday I create a full image of my SSD, onto an external HD, and I keep 2 months worth of SSD images on it
Every time an image is created, it stores a .xml file in Documents>'Reflect.

Interesting...
But I think I still might leave it. None of the drivers that needed 'updating' looked..important?

P.S I learnt about the "snake oil" term now...
Hey!
I came across 'DriverDR' on DDU's website.
I thought I would try it and see and it lists lots of drivers that need updating
It looks like jargon to me. Do I just ignore this and just...

Thanks! Will use another CD, or even better, use a usb
Wait so hang on, I havent created any images of my SSD using the v7 yet
But once I create a full image of my SSD with the new v7 Macrium, IF I need to restore using the v6 CD, it will not restore...
Just updated Macrium from v6>v7
Do I need to create a new rescue CD? Would there be some change in the v7 Macrium not recognising the rescue CD I created with v6 Macrium?
If this makes sense? ...
Yes you are correct, SSD store the OS (and my games/software), and internal HD stores my photos, work, music etc
Ye I do see your points, but doesn't a differential image (I need to purchase...
Thanks guys
When you say the eHD1 and eHD2 should have a folder called 'data', are you talking about my personal files; photos, music, work etc?
Also thanks for the advice on backing up,...
-I have a 2TB external HD (lets call this ExHD_1) that I am currently using to create 'Images' of only my SSD. I think having 2 months worth of the SSD image is enough, then when I create a new one,...
Ah yes, so I was probably referring to what you describe as 'Patch Tuesday' then.
Maybe I just need to image every month, before the big update you mention, but to be safe I think every week is ok...
So Windows rolls 'geneal bugs and fixes' updates every Tuesday right? However, they roll out important/big updates around the 5th/6th every month?
Unfortunately I dont have a spare HD to restore...
I just have 1 folder called 'SSD Images', and have all the images stored in there.
I put the 'date' in the 'comments' section when creating the images, although I am sure when you boot the CD and...
I have been kindly advised by people on this forum that its best to use Macrium to create an 'image' of your SSD only, and to manually backup your HD storage (that has photos, documents, music etc)....
I thought if PC fails, e.g it wont boot up, you load the Rescue CD, insert the external HD with the images, select correct image and restore.
Or is the "open Macrium, navigate to the image file on...
ah so I can use my image backup external 2TB hd, and also add documents to it.
I was somehow worried that when you boot the bootable CD, insert the external HD, and find the restore image I want,...
Thanks for the clarification and advice guys
And yes I am using Macrium :)
I will create image backup of my SSD, including all partitons
And manually backup data from my internal HD to an...
