Further to unreconised DVD, I wouldn't dare start dismantling anything, and am petrified that if I start meddling with registry etc that I could lose the one working DVD. Agh!

My DVD drive worked fine up to the time Windows 10 was installed, then became invisible! Luckily my Dell desktop had two DVD drives, so I do still have one operable DVD. Haven't a clue, as an elderly...
