Sorry about that. I am in the middle of something right now and I have 3 boot partitions on this computer (Windows 7, 8, 10) and when I did the image, I was not paying attention. My problem is with Windows 10, not 7. I will post the Windows 10 image in a little while.

If you have already confirmed the drive file system with chkdsk /x /f /r and confirmed the health of the drive with SMART, Health, and error scans you may perform an in place upgrade repair to reduce the likelihood that there is operating system problem. This should maintain files and applications.
Create a bootable windows 10 iso:
    Download Windows 10
    1) Make sure that you have booted using windows 10 version 1703
    2) open file explorer
    3) insert the windows 10 iso into a USB drive
    4) identify the windows 10 iso within file explorer
    5) click on the iso and find the setup or setup.exe file and launch it
    6) for the in place upgrade make sure that you do not click on install
    7) look in the left lower corner for repair your computer
    8) click on it and follow the text and images in this link:

I appreciate your assistance, but I don't want to destroy what has been accomplished; a refresh or reset does a complete reinstall (been down that road) and it will not save programs, only data, if you happen to have office installed, you will lose you license.

Were you able to read the informational portion of the link about refresh and reset compared to in place upgrade repair?

Brink is a very smart person, but I don't trust it. I tried a refresh once and it formatted the HD and did a complete install. I will leave the repairs to someone else when it comes to repairing Windows. I am moving back to Windows 7 and hope that M$ will come out with a new version of XP
