Windows 10 pretty much usually at 100% disk usage

This is a different computer with a new installation. My computer comes to a halt. I will click on something and have to wait awhile before the program begins. I will open a window and wait until it opens. I click close and the window remains there and finally closes a bit later. The only things I have installed are:

    Firefox
    utorrent
    Chrome
    Skype
    Open Office
    Korean IME
    Japanese IME
    Russian IME
    Macromedia Package
    Adobe Reader
    Spotify
    Goldwave
Paperclip a print tool we use for my business

I thought it was a memory leak in Firefox but it persists even when I close that. When I boot fresh, it is at 100%. Here is a screenshot sorted by the programs that are using memory.Windows 10 pretty much usually at 100% disk usage-usage.gifWindows 10 pretty much usually at 100% disk usage-usage-again.gif

Quick question; does Skype open at Start-up? Not sure if you are aware of this or not but Skype & Google Chrome cause 100% Disk Usage, it's something to do with that. I know that this may not be your solution, but I think turning off Skype from Start-up and making sure it doesn't run alongside Google Chrome is a quick fix. However, if this doesn't work- I have one more solution for you! (:

Hi, you might try this- I recall I struggled with disk use when I first upgraded to Win 10 on my old PC a long time back... Defender and this:

Hi, you might try this which has significantly reduced disk usage after logon:
Open Task Scheduler. Under Microsoft->Windows->Customer Experience Improvement Program. Right click->disable the 2 tasks.

You don't need them and been known to cause problems. MS collect data and send it in the background.

    Thanks to @topgundcp

(I also then found installing Avast (replacing Defender helped greatly- although I wouldn't expect that to be necessary now).

    Something is worth looking at:
    1. Most programs don't really need to run at startup. Just use it when needed.
    2. Upgrading might screw up the search database. stop "Windows Search" service and delete
      C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Search\Data\Applications\Windows\Windows.edb
then restart service, let it rebuild a fresh index database.
    3. System Restore might be corrupted. Delete all restore points. Then re-create a brand new one if you use system protection.
    4. Run from Admin command: Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /StartComponentCleanup
    5. Open Settings then search: Apps then select "Which apps can run in the background" then turn off. Again, just run when needed.
