I didn’t get to the part of running that tweak tool in safe mode because y’all mentioned the sfc fix and also one of the first things I tried was putting my wife’s user name on and running that way as well, I was still having those weird issues on her user name and that’s when I was like man this is the weirdest windows problems I’ve ever had, it’s like it kept following me and that’s why I started running other virus software thinking it was all from a virus

I wasn't the one mention SfcFix tool you don't need to use this tool there is no corrupted Windows system files.

Please run the tweak tool in safe mode and report back with result.

If tweak tool won't resolve the issue i will help you check your computer for malware infection.

Ok thanks, my wife dragged me away to go eat out and we are about to head back home right now and I will try the tweak tool in the safe zone, fingers crossed. Should be , well it’s been a while since I used that tool but it runs about an hour or so... I’ll report back with my findings

Ok, i checked all the repair boxes you asked and now im back in windows normal mode. I have tried the regular ways to open task manager though (cntrl+shift+esc & right click task bar) and it hasn't come up at all :-( what else should i definatively try to see if things are working at all? I really dont think it actually fixed things. Damn, I tried running google chrome as well.... it doesn't run. should i reinstall them or what?

Do you want to repair install or you want to check for malware infections?

Scan with Farbar Recovery Scan Tool

Please download Farbar Recovery Scan Tool x64 and save it to your Desktop.

    • Right-click on FRST icon and select Run as Administrator to start the tool.
    • When the tool opens click Yes to disclaimer.
    • Make sure that Addition option is checked.
    • Press Scan button and wait.
    • The tool will produce two logfiles on your desktop: FRST.txt and Addition.txt.

Please copy and paste their content into your next reply.
