Issue Adding Windows Update Shortcut to 'This PC' - Creator's Update
Hi all,
Hoping that someone can assist in resolving an issue with Creator's Update. I am looking to add a shortcut to 'Windows Update' (including it's original icon) to the 'Devices and drives' section of the 'This PC' window.
I recall having had this customisation in the past, and even Ultimate Windows Tweaker 4.2.3 does not offer that particular selection. Whilst similar, the following registry hack simply adds it to the context menu and it only works in Creators Update after a permissions update to take ownership though!
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{20D04FE0-3AEA-1069-A2D8-08002B30309D}\shell\Windows Update]
"Icon"=hex(2):73,00,68,00,65,00,6c,00,6c,00,33,00,32,00,2e,00,64,00,6c,00,6c,\
00,2c,00,34,00,36,00,00,00
"SettingsURI"="ms-settings:windowsupdate"
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{20D04FE0-3AEA-1069-A2D8-08002B30309D}\shell\Windows Update\command]
"DelegateExecute"="{556FF0D6-A1EE-49E5-9FA4-90AE116AD744}"
Can anybody suggest a constructive alternate to accomplish the desired result?
Many thanks,
