    Asus Sonic Notebook no Post

Hi, my five year old Asus SonicBook s200e has stopped working and when turned on the HDD and WiFi card LEDs flash on for a couple of seconds and then go off again. I have tried all of the button combinations, trying without the battery, removing the HDD, removing the network card and 3 different HDDs with working copies of windows on. Nothing has worked. I have a replacement CMOS battery arriving tomorrow, however I doubt it will solve anything. Has anyone got any suggestions before I have to scrap it?

Hi GameInGameOut. Welcome to the TenForums @GameInGameOut

When it powers on are there any beeps before it powers off? Are fan(s) powering on?

Not sure how much memory you have. If more than one stick I would try each independently?

Are you able to enter BIOS by pressing F12 as you power on?

Did this laptop receive an accidental jolt, maybe everything thing just needs to be reseated? You might also try cleaning and reapplying thermal paste to cpu. I would think it would stay on longer than you are describing before over heating.

If you can, could you try booting a utility from USB like memtest86?

Nothing works. No beeps but the CPU fan stays on. I cant boot to anything. I've taken it apart and put it back together once
