    CPU 100% spikes - freezing the laptop - WIN10

    Hello,
In the last month or so, I've been getting maximum CPU spikes to 100%, completely freezing the laptop on couple of seconds. This occurs pretty much each time the laptop is used for very basic stuff, music video on youtube + few extra tabs and thats pretty much it, not big demands for laptop.

Even now, when I was registering on forum I had multiple CPU spikes.

The problem occurs with Google Chrome, tried switching to Opera, Firefox, IE, happens same thing, so I'm guessing that the browser doesn't play the role here.

First thought was that was the problem due to Battery Save Mode, and when switched to High Performance Mode it was okay for few days, but that was just for that few days. Now, if I switch back to Battery Save Mode I get that spikes even more often than before.

Furthermore, I've ran numerous tests for viruses with AVG and Malwarebytes and there are no threats on laptop.

Here are specifications of my LenovoYOGA 910:

Operating System Windows 10 Home 64-bit
    CPU Intel Core i5 7500U @ 2.50GHz Kaby Lake-U/Y 14nm Technology
    RAM 16,0GB Dual-Channel Unknown @ 665MHz (10-10-10-28)
    Motherboard LENOVO VIUU4 (U3E1)
    Graphics Generic PnP Monitor (1920x1080@60Hz)
    Intel HD Graphics 620 (Lenovo)
Storage 476GB NVMe SAMSUNG MZVLW512 (RAID)

    Hi, please
    1. Check your disk:
Download and install Hard Disk Sentinel (trial) and post a screenshot of its GUI

    2. If ok then please check your file system:
    From an admin command prompt
[Windows key + X, click command prompt (admin)]
    chkdsk C: /F
Your PC will need to restart.
Post back the result, which you can get after a restart as follows:

    or

    or

Make sure the result is clear or fixed- else do not proceed.

    3. Try a clean boot then repeat the activities that tend to produce high CPU use.

If CPU use still peaks high then
    4. Try to capture a screenshot of your task manager when CPU use is high. Please organise columns of interest high to low by clicking on the relevant tab.

    Thanks
