    Addendum: It seems that the issue has been fixed in Windows 10 Creators Update. And there is a batch file to fix the issue. Further details may be found here:

    I had the System Restore failure in 1607 as detailed in Dalchina's thread. The problem was identified as the WindowsApps folder, and the 'Get Office' app in particular. I never applies any of the 'fixes', concerned that the 'cure' could introduce problems later on if/when Microsoft introduced a fix. For me and many others on that thread, the Creators Update fixed the problem.

    Has anybody tried System Restore with the Creator's Update? Did MS fix it?
    I just tested it on my Dell Inspiron laptop that has 1703 installed with no modifications and it works without issues.
