disc limits at 10mbps post formatting

    Hi guys.
    Newbie question here.
So i recently acquired an extra laptop, for work. It's second handed, i'll post the specs since i presume this might make things easier. It was formatted, and a clean install was performed using windows 10 home.

i know it's in dutch, i'm sorry. if things are unclear just ask but i assume most of you will know what's what.
As you can see there not a lot going on, but the laptop seems to freeze very frequently, even when a very simple task is performed, like opening a new tab in the browser.
Am i missing something? Is this just as good as the computer gets? seems slow and unusual even for these specs, no? this happens very frequently, i'm talking every other few minutes, all day long, every day.
If any extra info is needed, just ask, ofc.
Hoping this has a a simple fix and hoping it might have been caused by the formatting.
    Greetings and thanks in advance.

    Hi Shaughn,

    Welcome to the 10forums :)

Is Malwarebytes doing anything like running a scan?
Is Malwarebytes always running in the background when freezes occur?

Do you know how long the previous owner had the laptop, was any hardware replacement made?

Please fill in your system specs
Please follow this tutorial and download the tool. The tool will give you detailed information about your system specs, please fill in your system specs more completely including stuff like peripheral.
In the left corner below in your post you find 'My System Specs'. After clicking it you can find a link a little below that says 'Update your System Spec', click on this link to get to the page where you can fill in your system specs.

    Hi Axe0!
MBAM was only istalled a couple of hours ago, while the problem has lasted since i got the laptop, so i'd think this isn't related. Also it's not performing any scans atm.
The only hardware changes that were made in the past was changing hdd out for an sdd, and before handing it over performing the format and changing it back out for the original hdd...

also, clicking the home button/pressing the windows key results in nothing. Even though i think these problems aren't related i thought i'd just mention it.

Try a clean boot and see if it improves anything.

So i am in a clean boot environment right now.
The windows key and clicking the home button all seem to work fine now, but the initial problem of the disc reaching 100% in taskmgr just by performing the slightest task (again, like opening a new tab, that's what i tried and it lead to this: )

allthough i must say, it seems like the freezing last much shorter. could be just the thought, but i must say it seems like the problem still occurs but much much more tolerable.

    Please try the following
    Run HDTune to
    • check the health,
    • scan for errors, no quick scan but full scan
    • run a benchmark.

It may take some time, but please take the time you need to perform it properly.
When above is done please make screenshots of the following
    • the health,
    • the error scan,
    • the benchmark incl. following
      • transfer rate,
      • access time,
      • burst rate,
      • cpu usage.

    i'm on it.
    health: Attachment 137333
scan: disc limits at 10mbps post formatting-image.png
benchmark: disc limits at 10mbps post formatting-image.png

That should be everything you asked for?
I did let it run without doing anything else, if that's usefull information. didn't even open a tab or anything.
