And at the top it does show that it's reading the Full 6GB ? Sounds like it's only seeing the 2GB module and not seeing the 4GB one.

It reads the 6GB in the BIOS and Windows settings, but it says that only 1.92 are available

Hey, I tried turning the BIOS settings to default but that didn't work. I couldn't find the option for Memory Remapping. Any other solitions?
Did you search the HP site for a cause? On that site for a BIOS update?

Not sure, but I think the onboard graphics is stealing the RAM. Trying a 32 bit W10 is the only other thing I can think of. Checking other options first, though.

Nobody else is having that problem, and the BIOS is up to date. How can I change that about the onboard graphics?

That Model seems to have some Very Bad Reviews. It sounds like it's a BIOS or Driver problem like posted above though. Try HP Support and I'm guessing it's too late to roll back to 8.1 ? Or did You have the problem there too ?

Ok and thanks for that info. The odds of a RAM module/strip going out at the same time of an OS upgrade would be pretty high, yes? I think we can rule that out for now. It's the way the OS is managing the memory and a little beyond my knowledge. I'll have to research that more.

How did you upgrade? Assistant? Fresh install?

I upgraded it with the free upgrade that was available with Windows 8.2 for a while. The thing that I've found is that the 4GB that are unavailable are Hardware Reserved. Would that mean anything?

Sorry, but I don't have an instant answer for you. Again, this is beyond my knowledge. My apology with this. Perhaps shouldn't have gotten involved with helping you, however I will summon some that may know. In the mean time, someone else may come along.

I'm reading and learning this: About Memory Management (Windows)

Hang in there, cromat18. I won't leave you in the cold.
