Thanks guys. I already have Macrium with a WD raid 1 dual drive 4 TB backup system, but I can't/don't want to recover the disk image that's on it because the image includes all those pesky problems that just made me do a clean install. I can hopefully still recover the data, and I can relatively easily get my apps back online. I also have iDrive for data recovery offsite. I should be okay.

Just use Macrium to make another rescue disk/USB drive and backup/image. Once you have it made, delete the old one.

I would highly suggest when you have all the files and settings restored to where you want them,
make a new full Macrium back up.
Plus, make and test a new Macrium Rescue disk, both of these will be very useful if you
ever have a problem in the future.
If you have any questions as to how to do any of this please ask.
The Rescue disk is quick and easy to make.

All is well! The system is up and running and my disk space is recovered. Thank you all so much for your help and patience. I feel like I dragged you through a lot of hoops when the problem was really my own lack of patience in allowing the DVD to finish booting. I'm in the process of recovering apps and data. Hopefully I won't be back here again with other problems.

Cheers to all and thanks again.
    Great news!

If it were me, I would make a baseline image, then another, once you have everything installed and setup as you like it.
