Services "Application Information" or "User Profile Service" high CPU

    Windows update got stuck in "stopping," so I disabled its startup and restarted the computer. CPU usage has returned to 1%. I will monitor it for a while, but it looks like that was it. Thank you.

    Reset Windows Update in Windows 10 Windows 10 Windows Update Activation Tutorials

    And I'd like to see you turn off Fast Startup and give it a couple real shutdowns.

    I followed your instructions. Windows update is running without any processor drain. Turns out I had fast boot disabled all along. Again, thanks.
