    Hi there
One problem with W7 that seems to be forgotten -- is how often you used to get that nag message when either shutting down or re-booting consisting of "Windows is configuring your computer -- please do not switch off"

Used to be really annoying - especially when say at work you wanted to go home and the office has a policy that all equipment must be switched off before you left
    .

Totally agree - in one client's office, I am always hot desking.

That message comes up every time I log on to a pc not in use and then you only get an option to defer for up to four hours. Worse is the update adobe crap which you cannot do as you generally do not have admin rights.

I think I can remember the Windows is configuring message would appear several times a week -- even if you hadn't installed any updates via Windows update.

Two easy options - Use hibernate not shut down, or book overtime every time you were kept in the workplace by company IT policy, it amazing how quickly policy can be changed when it costs money

Comparing Win 10 to Win 7 is not quite fair...

Win 10 is a rolling release and continually changing - if that's not your thing.. then stick with the old stuff... personally, I embrace change, so Win 10 gets my vote.

I wish though the AERO Glass top type of background (VISTA) could be installed on W10 -- I like it much better than the "Darkish Zombie" type themes that seem to be so popular these days.
It can- via - er- Aeroglass... but not yet available for the CU. Typically updated a few months after a major release. It also optionally adds a small translucent border to apps.

Windows 7 is great for a older computer made to run it. On my new PC W10 runs great but on any computer not made for W10 a W7 or W8 machine it runs slower than the native OS. It was stupid for MS to push W10 on older hardware.
Sorry but as a enthusiast who has 6-7 "older" computers lying around, windows 10 runs great on them. My rigs vary between amd & intel processors, about 5 have around 2-4 GB of ram & the others have about 1GB of ram. All tend to perform much better on 10, regardless of a clean install or simply upgrading the existing os to 10.
