What's your memory assessment speed ?

Hi guys,
Been watching these incredible high memory assessment speeds from 35-80 GB/s on this thread and wonder if someone can tell me what is an acceptable speed (or is it called bandwidth?) for my system that I am about to upgrade to Dual Channel 2 x 4 GB (same module as soldered on the mbo)


My bus speed is 100 MHz and I am on power adapter with Maximum performance power setting. WINSAT mem reports maximum 15 GB/s, average is 13 GB/s, is this below par? WINSAT Formal reports also that the 4GB is insufficient for a x64 system with a WEI of 5.7. I checked if something big is running on the background but only defender is using 63 MB.

I looked at some conversions from DDR frequency to bandwidth (GB/s) and found that 2666 = 15 GB/s effectively (burst rate 20 GB/s) is that correct? That would mean that the 15 GB/s max. Winsat mem is reporting is OK (no waste).
Yes I will add another 4 GB (same model) DDR4 and hope to double this to 30 GB/s.

The hardware platform pretty much determines the type of memory is utilized and it's performance. Comparing different platforms' memory performance is not apple-to-apple comparison.

Take my eight years old Ivy Bridge desktop, with Intel Core i5 3350P; yes it's old. It's memory performance isn't too bad based on the platform:





It certainly cannot even come close to the current hardware with DDR4 memory, as CountMike's posting above shows...

just in case anyone is wondering you don't need any fancy programming to run this command. just make sure you run your command prompt "as administrator" just... "winsat mem" is all you need (no parenthesis)

well here's my new build. my AIDA score for read/copy is about 10,000 higher but i think winsat averages your read/write/copy and with ryzen 3700/3800 or any of the single chiplet, uh chips you get lower write speeds,so whatevs... anyway still got more tweaking to do but here's what i got at the moment... edit: using 2x16GB Ballistix 3200 @ 3600 which uses Micron E-die
