    When you get an Error in Event Viewer (you have to go to Custom Views then Administrative Events to show these) it will list the GUID which is usually an alphanumeric number shown between brackets example:
    {dbe9b383-7cf3-4331-91cc-a3cb16a3b538}

    so weird man, thats where ive been looking this whole time but i dont see any guid
    what I do is look below the Event ID shown (in the bottom half of the window) where you have two tabs General - Details...opening Details shows two selections... Friendly View an XML View find the GUID listed to copy the GUID an paste it regedit to do a search. For some reason you can't copy items shown in the General mode.
    nvm i just found it, im an idiot.. thanks man!

    after looking at this event id: 201, devicesetupmanager, A connection to the Windows Metadata and Internet Services (WMIS) could not be established, i found the guid but when i search for it in regedit its not coming up. it is: {FCBB06BB-6A2A-46E3-ABAA-246CB4E508B2}

    any advice on how to fix this? i tried going to the path Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\WMI\Autologger but i cant seem to find it

    Have you looked in Services to see it is 'activated' or started? Sometimes things get turned off or toggled off or set to Manual.

    Usually in Windows Settings ( Start>Settings>Update&Security) go over those again an see if they're all on.

    Which ones exactly do you recommend ?
    I mean usually i see that people recommend to turn off the updates from more than one place and to uncheck the 2nd box near the top but is that not good?

    It depends on tastes really. I had turned all that off too and with the new 'Creators' update (Redstone 2?) ended up going back an toggling it back on. The reason being that it (the updates..so far) haven't stopped what I was doing (like gaming for instance) to do those updates. Seems like now it waits for you to pull the trigger whereas before it would just interrupt whatever it was you were doing.

    thanks, I had the error in the eventlog
    App Container profile failed with error 0x800700B7 because it was unable to register the AppContainer SID.
    the following fixed it
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\WMI\Autologger\EventLog-Application\{f1ef270a-0d32-4352-ba52-dbab41e1d859}
    enable = 1 => 0
