You have done the one thing that you shouldn't have done. You cheaped out on the power supply. An OEM 300w PSU sounds borderline at the most.

I would put your components in pcpartpicker.com and it will give you a wattage total, add 100w on top for future upgrades.

The Power Supply came with the system, I just don't have the money yet to afford a new one, bought this system off newegg last January 2016, getting a newer power supply asap though, probably evga G3 550 watt. it's actually 350 watt inside here I rechecked it

Yup now just to afford it, get it delivered, and installed, hopefully can afford it with March coming up, and perfect, I almost didn't buy the SSD and just waited on this backordered psu thru bestbuy.com, but ended up cancelling the PSU order, as only had 1 gift card for real life birthday, so picked out SSD instead, probably a really not smart move on my part, but was gonna be backordered til March 21st

I have turned computers off at night and on in the morning for 20 years or more without one single issue. I don't leave lights on at night so why would I want to leave my computer on?

There are super cheap, though reviews are not good, PSU's such as KENTEK 750watt psu for $40. I bought one years ago because mine sparked one day and fried itself. Somehow, I have no idea how, an aluminium foil candy wrapper parked itself in a very bad spot. Here come the jokes. Any who, this "cheap chinese firecracker" worked great and I never had any issues with it for a few years until I started putting more power hungry parts into my rig. I highly doubt it was actually 750 watts.

I'm just saying, grab one and even if you don't NEED it, keep it as an emergency backup.

On the other matter, I shut off my rig every night because of the loud fans. Every morning it boots up just fine so I wouldn't worry.

    Hi All

For the last year I have let PC sleep at night, do some maintnenance over night, soon getting my first SSD drive, and not sure if letting PC sleep as I normally did is good or bad for the SSD drive, on the other hand since I can't afford new Power supply yet, nervous on shutting it down, as was told years ago isn't too safe to shutdown Computer as causes more stress on bootup for Power supply, hard drive, motherboard, and fans. (I might be way wrong, but that's what I heard years ago)
I always turn my PC off and switch it off at the mains when not in use. It's kinder to the planet and reduces the fire risk. Any fireman will tell you to unplug appliances when not in use.

I have turned it off due to thunderstorms before, power outages, but usually back on right away, and pray all boots up fine after that, I guess maybe I worry over too much...Do reboot at times
My computers get turned completely off and rebooted at power on many times each day, especially now with SSD. I don't even have fast startup enabled. I sit down at my desk, hit the power button to boot the computer from complete power off state, takes about 15 seconds to get to desktop. Check my email or do whatever, then click shutdown to turn it all the way off.

My wife uses sleep on her laptop. I can't count how many times a thumb drive or something else won't work for her and my first answer is always, reboot your computer. That always fixes it.

Ok SSD installed, OS Clean installed, rebooting in a moment for updates to take effect, now I game all day, usually 12 hours or so, will that have adverse affect on SSD? I'm getting slowly used to shutting down at night again, after a few years of not shutting down, most of the installs will be on 2tb mechanical hard drive, should I move my swap file off the SSD, if so what should I set it for custom size on the 2tb hard drive?
