Emailing from Windows Fax and Scan.

My daughter, whose laptop O/S is Windows 10 Pro, has run into the following problem when using Windows Fax and Scan. Her default email client is eM Client but when she tries to send a scanned document as an attachment, Fax and Scan opens Microsoft Outlook which is overlaid with an error message which indicates she is not licensed to use Outlook. Fax and Scan should, of course, open eM Client. She has to save the scanned document., open eM Client , then attach the saved document to an email. This, therefore, involves an annoying extra step.

How can Outlook and its error message be prevented from opening up from Fax and Scan and eM Client substituted please?

Why are you trying to fax an email ?

Why do you have Outlook installed if you have an email service already.

There`s no need to have Outlook installed.

I have obviously not made myself clear. Sorry for that. I will try again:

After scanning a document with Windows Fax an Scan, you get two or three options. The option I am referring to is "Forward as Email". When this is selected it opens Outlook rather than the free equivalent which my daughter uses which is called eM Client. ( To clear any confusion, I understand a generic name for programs such as Outlook, that access and manage ones emails, is email client - eM Client is one such freeware program ).

My question is, how do I stop Fax and Scan selection "Forward as Email" defaulting to Outlook rather than to eM Client. This is a recent change that I want to correct.

Have you set eMClient as your default email from within Settings.......you might also need to "set defaults by app" from the bottom of the Settings window and select all the defaults for eMClient........

    Same problem, settings are OK

I set eMClient as my default email from within Settings and checked the "set defaults by app" and all apps were set to Outlook. Any other ideas how to solve this problem? Thank you!
