Thanks Cliff, you are a star with all this stuff (really :)) although I think I'm going to keep this installation standard for now at least.
Thanks though, I do appreciate all your efforts.

You're welcome, the custom view makes no changes, it just makes it easier to see what, when & if trim & defrag ran.
I have a couple of other custom views, for shutdown, boot & restart, and Windows & UWP apps updates.
It just makes it easier then treeing down to the item, and also sets a filter, so I only see what actions I want, and no meaningless errors(timeouts and such).:)
Did you read the entire article and the summary ?
We`ve gone over Rapid mode at Seven Forums years ago.
Hi,
I did read the entire article even tough its a bit old, hence my remark.
Cheers
in addition to the above, change the status of the service "optimize drives" to manual to prevent unnecessary start up during boot since it will not be used on SSD's. (MMC console, services)
edit: i dont typically like to set any services to "disabled" simply because setting them to "manual" allows the service to start in the event of a call to it, so even though "optimize drives" is set to "manual", opening (or any program calling it such as task scheduler) the GUI version of "defrag" will start the service but booting the OS will not start the service.
