After running windows serveral hours, I will start getting messages that files cannot be located.
I reboot, check the file system, everything looks normal until it starts all over again.

    Hey SOHO1.

    Love your system specs !!

Did you install something to manage your Google Chrome profiles. Something that would save your history, bookmarks etc?

I'm going out on a limb here, GCB stands for Google Chrome Backup which matches directory.

Yeah, I posted before I completed all my checks and had not identified it right away as you did. This product was known to be on my PC for a while and it seems the uninstall failed. I have searched the registry and startup and removed all occurrences that could find in order to wipe it. The io errors had me in a bit of a panic as I have had other io related problems recently. I also removed the new, unrequested Intel Security Assist software that allows remote access to file system devices. Sounds goverment and hacker friendly, but that's about it.
