For me my C-drive (SSD) can't be defragmented/optimized on latest build by default. So no, Windows does not defrag SSDs, by default.
Perhaps some confusion so please bear with me.

    (1) Need a Windows-10 unit running for more than a month AND
(2)One in which the Disk Optimizer has been enabled for SSD (per MS this behaves differently for SSD and Spinners) AND
    (3)System Restore is enabled

Goal with the Powershell script is to see if MS defrags SSD even though it is supposed to just Optimize.

    Thanks for your assistance.
@NavyLCDR, @Rocky - Yes, aware of defrag of SSD, using the term loosely. Win-10 has Optimize that is supposed to Trim SSD and Defrag Spinner.

You do know that SSDs are not required to be defragged and it only shortens their life? SSDs are not affected by fragmentation AT ALL.
That's not what the Microsoft WIndows Storage team say (at least not reputedly in 2014).
    From here:
The real and complete story - Does Windows defragment your SSD? - Scott Hanselman
Storage Optimizer will defrag an SSD once a month if volume snapshots are enabled. This is by design and necessary due to slow volsnap copy on write performance on fragmented SSD volumes. It’s also somewhat of a misconception that fragmentation is not a problem on SSDs. If an SSD gets too fragmented you can hit maximum file fragmentation (when the metadata can’t represent any more file fragments) which will result in errors when you try to write/extend a file. Furthermore, more file fragments means more metadata to process while reading/writing a file, which can lead to slower performance.
The point being (I think) that the tables in the file system are affected by fragmentation, even if the actual files aren't.

Thank you David. That is the point that I was trying to make.
And it seems that there is a way to find out if Windows is actually defragging SSD instead of Trim.

Vadim (the guy who researched this issue in detail) seems to claim that the same is true for Windows-10 and hence my request to find out from people who have had win-10 running for over a month (provided ALL 3 conditions laid out in my previous post are met). Mine is a new machine and hence does not have the same data.

I didn't do anything. I just installed Windows 10 and let it go.
That's what I do. Install, done. In a little bit, when i get off my Mac and get downstairs to my Windows boxes, I'll run the PowerShell commands for you and let you know the results.

I have had Windows 10 running on the same SSD for just about 2 years now and I have never done any maintenance to my SSD.

If you meet the 3 conditions that I mentioned in one of the previous posts then could you please run the PowerShell command:
"Get-EventLog -LogName Application -Source "microsoft-windows-defrag" | sort timegenerated -desc | fl timegenerated, message"

    and share your results?

    Thanks,

Thanks but please ensure that your unit meets ALL 3 conditions:

A request to all who have Windows default set up for SSD.

Per another website, Could you please post your findings on:
    ...
execute PowerShell command:"Get-EventLog -LogName Application -Source "microsoft-windows-defrag" | sort timegenerated -desc | fl timegenerated, message"
First thing to note is that this one of those little 32GB devices, and I don't think it's a "true" SSD.
Also, I may have run Optimise myself manually at times. But also I have a main laptop which I do most of my stuff on, so this doesn't get switched on every day so can go for a few weeks without being switched on. So it's difficult to conclude much from the dates.

Because of the small disk space, it's still on Windows 10 1511 - I'll need to do some work to upgrade it to 1607, but that does mean it's been running a while in this configuration.

That said, here's the powershell results.
