Stuttering in games caused by svchost process
Ok so in some of my games, when I am playing I get random stutters, the cause of which I have finally narrowed down to svchost being the culprit. Before I go any further my PC specs are:
Core i7 6700
GTX 1070
16 GB 2133 Mhz RAM
250 GB SSD
1 TB HDD
I have Windows automatically control the size of the paging file for the SSD, right now it is sitting at about 2.4 GB. But of course it can change size depending on what Windows uses it for.
The exact name of the process is svchost.exe Service Host: Local Service (Network Restricted). When the stuttering occurs this process jumps to the top of the "Processes" tab in Task Manager and from what I've observed, uses about 10% of my CPU. That, for whatever reason, is enough to cause stuttering when I'm gaming. I have also noticed that at the same time my GPU usage drops to 0% for a second or so.
My computer in terms of programs is honestly pretty barebones. I've attached a screenshot of 95% of my programs (the bottom got cut off unfortunately, but they're just simple programs like Train Simulator and WhoCrashed.
I run Windows Defender and Malwarebytes as my anti-evil programs. Anyway, just trying to get to the bottom of this because stuttering is pretty annoying and persistent; I'm surprised that Windows would have something like this occur.
