Two oldest systems I have, both allow standard installing & running & updating of 1809 x64:

    Atom N450 Pineview & NM10 Chipset - year 2010
...horribly slow, limited usage possible under linux

    Core2 Quad Q9550 Yorkfield & nForce 750i Chipset - year 2008
...lack of SLAT/EPT so no 3-tier nested virtualization

Perhaps they will be supported under 19H1 too.
Not "really old hardware", only for info.
The desktop Core 2 Quads (Kentsfield & Yorkfield) & Core 2 Duos (such as Conroe & Wolfdale) should be fine for Win10 v1809 as I tested the 1809 install media on a relative's HP pavilion a6050y computer with a P5LP-LE Leonite motherboard using an Intel Core 2 Duo E6700 this past weekend and the installation went through with no problems.

This is it. You are correct, erpster4.
    Attachment 226738
you need to change/upgrade that CPU, eLPuSHeR. that yonah core duo processor is slow & weak (and missing 64bit support) and for 1809 & later to work on your machine, put in a Merom based Core 2 Duo such as T7200, T7400 or T7600 (look for any of them on ebay or amazon - any of these will fit into that computer; also run Speccy to determine the other specs of that computer using Core Duos/Core 2 Duos)

I am using that old laptop to play dvd and little else. I am not spending a single more euro on it. It was a gift.

BTW: Why v1809 x86 isn't working? why 19H1 beta it is?

I'm looking at the release notes for win10 build 18353. might have something to do with an issue with memcpy that they fixed in that version as that was mentioned. i'm not sure if that will be backported to 1809.

edit: you might as well skip 1809 entirely and go straight in to 1903/19H1 if that version works on your computer

I can still remember that v1703 broke support for old desktop & laptop PCs that had broadcom 440x 10/100 integrated controller in them (the old Dell inspiron e1405 had that old integrated Broadcom 440x LAN device and 1703 hung on the desktop) and got fixed with the KB4032188 cumulative update, which came nearly 4 months after 1703 was first released in april 2017.

good news, eLPuSHeR. I got a chance to beta test win10 build 18362 yesterday on my Dell Inspiron e1405 laptop, using an Intel T2700 "Yonah" processor. It appeared to install and work without any problems (I did a clean install on a spare and blank 250gb hard drive). Should that build turn out to be the final rtm build for 1903, you can upgrade to that one when 1903 gets officially released sometime next month.

just wondering what the specs of your old laptop has: use Speccy to determine the model of your old laptop using that T2600 processor.

I cannot say the same for this guy, who can't even install nor upgrade to either 1803 or 1809 versions of win10; he's using a laptop older than yours & mine (pentium m + intel 915gm graphics chipset; heck Intel did not even make a wddm compatible graphics driver for Intel 910gm/915gm chipsets). he's stuck with 1709 and MS will end support for the 1709 release of win10 home/professional in April 2019

Well, I have 32-bit 1809 running on an Acer Aspire One AOD270 (Atom N2600, 2GB RAM, original W7 Starter). It's fast enough to make it a useful 'holiday web browser' machine.

You will have two main problems. The first is speed. Your Atom N270 is a single core / two logical processor device as opposed to my dual core / 4 logical processors. Its Passmark rating is half that of mine.

PassMark - CPU Comparison Intel Atom N270 vs Intel Atom N2600

The second is that there are no video drivers available for Windows 8/10, Intel stopped support after Windows 7 for these Atoms. You will be using the Microsoft Basic Display Adapter with the restrictions that imposes: No graphics acceleration, so anything much above a low-res Youtube video will be beyond its abilities. Sleep is not supported (use hibernation instead). There is no ability to adjust display brightness.

There is a third problem - activation. My OEM W7 was entitled to an upgrade to W10, your OEM XP isn't.

this one's been thru the mill. I dtiched xp to try the crappy linux from acer, went bat to xp and upgraded to 7, then 8.0
using the family upgrade then to 8.1 from the store and then to 10 .

Try these, both N270 & N2600 are marked as supported:
Download Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator 3150 for Windows 7* 32-Bit
Download Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator 3150 Driver for Windows 7* 64-Bit

    Working fine @ N450.

    I have. Unfortunately with my N2600 I get a BSoD in x86 1809.
