Since doing research, I found a pentium 4 socket 478 cpu that has the NX bit

    Intel® Pentium® 4 Processor 511 (1M Cache, 2.80A GHz, 533 MHz FSB)

Here's the Intel CPU information from Intel's website:
    http://ark.intel.com/products/27453/...Hz-533-MHz-FSB :)
I have a Dell or should I say Dull Dimension 4600 running that socket 478 2.8GHz CPU w/2GB ram and it refuses to install with the same CPU BS nag as my Athlon64 4800+x2 with 4GB ram. I gave Microshaft a blast today quoting their jargon on their web site about the min requirements. Such like they show would be older than both these computers I have. Total rubbish when my Athlon flies on XP64 and the Dull performs great on the resource hog Windows 7 Ult. BTW what makes me laugh is what they want for this OS on the Microshaft store online but meanwhile I clicked on my Amazon App and there is a seller there providing a genuine Key for Win10 Pro for $29.00!! With all of this hardware nonsense that is a reasonable logical price if they want to force me to upgrade. With such nonsense we should be posting in uppercase. I guess I will stick with XP and 7 because the only box I have that supports 10 is an eMachine I picked off of the backdoor steps of my neighbor that was going to recycle with an AMD2 single core but the motherboard supports an AMD2 6X. This is the only thing that has it on. My Acer Aspire One 533 had 7 Starter on it and Microsoft Tech support didn't recomend 10 on it even though it supports it but one thing I noticed is my eMachine runs slightly faster on 10 than 7 Ult with 2 GB of ram. It can also support 8GB of ram as well.

Maybe I should solder back the Capacitors I have removed on my ABIT-BP6 Dual Celeron@366Mhz and iBX440 chipset system and see if Windows still runs?

Surely you can run Windows 7 in a Pentium III but not Windows 8 or 10 because of the missing NX/PAE support. You could hack the kernel to ignore these requirements, but this doesn't count and at every restart you would see the troubleshooting screen, select the Advanced Boot Options and the "ignore driver signature" (or similar) to be able to boot. Very inconvenient. I forgot to say it will be slow as hell with less then 1GB RAM.

    Hello,

I am trying also to install Windows 10 on a PC with the following specs:
    CPU: Intel Core 2 DUO E8400 @ 3 GHz
    Memory: 4GB
GPU: ATI Radeon HD 4800 Series
    Motherboard: ASUS P5Q Deluxe

as described my issue here: Problem formating pc with Windows 10 OEM DVD, stuck at windows logo - - Windows 10 Forums

I read in this thread that it is possible to install Windows 10 on a PC with a P5Q Deluxe Motherboard, is this correct? Or might this actually be the problem I am facing?

I have installed it (for a friend) on a Asus P5QD-Turbo (Dual core Core2d don't remember exact one) and on Gigabute ga-g41mt-s2 with a C2q processor. works good on both.

CountMike before installing did you upgrade the BIOS first to the latest version?

I suppose it was already on last but can't be sure now, this was a year ago, I just kept all his drivers and manuals so I can help him.

I have recently installed Windows 10 on a Dell Latitude E6400 (Intel core 2 Duo P8400 @2.26GHz) with no issues except some drivers had to be obtained from Dell manually.

Other lower spec and older core2 duos also installed with Windows 10 with no problems, on Gigabyte MBs.

CountMIke and Fafhrd, thank you for your answers, so as I understand my PC's specs are fine to install Windows 10 and are not the reason for the issue I am facing.

I tried to install WIN 10 CU on a AcerTravelMate 2492WLMi but it would keep freezing near the end of the install.
Then I tried WIN 10 AU and everything worked fine.
    Specs:
    CPU: Intel Celeron M 420 / 1.6 GHz
    GPU: Intel GMA 950
    RAM: 2GB DDR2

It works ok'ish for browsing and stuff but it's really slow when you need to update something. Searching for updates and installing the updates keeps the 1.6GHz single core cpu at 100% for many minutes.
