I would turn off Defragmentation for a while and just for testing purposes, normally it only runs when computer is not being used. But you never know.
One last Suggestion : Windows Swap File (Virtual Memory)
In System>Advanced System Settings>Performance Settings : I have "Let Windows choose what is best" and the "Advanced" tab >Virtual Memory I disabled the "Automatically Manage Paging file" and instead I choose Drive C > "System Managed size".
I have 12Gb RAM and 4 Partitions and the automacally mangaed file is giving me a huge Swap File. With this settings a have a small 1,8Gb swap file.
