Hi,
Nick, on your c:\ drive you had your c:\ partition, the Windows Recovery partition and the now deleted HP (Vista) partition, correct.
If it does not already exist then I like you to make a backup of the Windows Recovery (AKA WinRe) partition it's the 45Mb one.
All in all you will need 3 images: the Windows install partition, the WinRe partition and the SRP one. The latter one is the one that we're going to expand to 500Mb later on.
From the screenshot I can only see two backups: the windows image and the SRP one.
I'll reread Bill's e-mail so I can follow his suggestions.
Cheers,
Hi,
No, I am talking about the second partition visible on the disk management screenshot, the one that says Healthy (Recovery or whatever).
Can you make a backup of that one and name it SystemRecovery or something along those lines ?
Also, if you have things you want to keep on the machine we're now working on then you should back that up as well. Just give the backup a name that will separate it from the backups of the VHDs we made a few days ago.
This is because we're going to wipe the current c:\ drive clean.
I understand we will still be able to communicate by using your tablet, correct ?
Cheers,
Ok

I did an original system immediately of the windows says I'm going of that partition.
Hi,
Possibly but we need to be sure. Can you mount #2 from within file explorer and take a screenshot. Tick the little box to allow access to system files or whatever it says. If it looks empty it is not.
If you want to sees its contents ( I do) then in explorer's menu click view, options, view and uncheck" hide protected system files".
After the screenshot is taken you can then unmounts the image and take the same step as in explorer as described above and chek this "Hide protected system files etc." again.
BTW, I think #2 is the actual Recovery partition. #0 must then be the SRP image made form the backed up VHD.
If my thinking is correct then I suggest we rename #2 to SysRec.
Thanks
Oops sorry, I'll try again
