Cant install KB3156421, goes into loop (removes and downloads again and installs-uninstalls), have it hidden-
Have tried all possible things. Own 3 PC's, 2 updated successfully but 1 not so well. Is there a thread for this patch install problem?

    No guarantees.
    Try this :
C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download, delete all file in folder Download and try check update

go to This PC > open C: your main drive > open Windows > open SoftwareDistribution > open Download.
Delete all the contents inside the Download folder but Do Not delete the folder itself.

Go see if you can download/install the KB again.

Have done that but no luck. Thanks anyway. Have also re-upgraded W10 and that one did not work either.

Don't know if it's the same, but MS has some reset advice for WU that seems familiar with that one. MS's did not help. Update goes to 98 % and then states it can't update and resets. Can have a try.

No luck with WU reset. Update goes to 98 or 100 % on reboot, but right after that it reverts, weird. No other errors.

Create another user account with exactly the same privileges as this one.
Logon to it > check updates

Tried to re-install-upgrade w10 but resulted in failure. I'll try tomorrow to create another user etc. Thanks for help! It seems like re-installation is near cause cant even re-upgrade W10 anymore. Really odd. Windows is working normal except for cumulative update not installing.

    splitsecond,

    error code : 0xC1900101 - 0x30018
Installation failed in the first_boot phase with an error during SYSREP operation.

The error message and the error code is something I am NOT knowledgeable enough to tackle.
I strongly suggest that you start a NEW THREAD for yourself. The OP's problem is no longer same as yours and it is NOT fair to hijack his thread to solve your problem.

Do start a thread for yourself and repost that screenshot.
Briefly described what you have done. That you have solved the corrupt files problem but still cannot install update KB3156421.
Someone with more in-depth knowledge will help you.
    Thank you and good luck.
