Slow processor after Windows 10 upgrade
Hi, I'm new to this group, so hope I am in the right board.
I have an HP15 Notebook which has been running slow since a Win10 upgrade (Although this might have just heightened the problem). Pentium N3540 processor and 4GB memory.
I installed CPUID HW-MONITOR to try to find the problem and the results, whilst a video was running, were as follows:
Core 0 2665 MHz Temp 55 Deg
Core 1 2665 MHz Temp 56 "
Core 2 2665 MHz Temp 58 "
Core 3 2665 MHz Temp 58 "
However, after about 1 hour, the results were as follows:
Core 0 500 MHz Temp 55 Deg
Core 1 500 MHz Temp 56 "
Core 2 2665 MHz Temp 59 "
Core 3 2665 MHz Temp 59 "
No amount of loading would induce the first two cores to go above 500MHz.
Does this indicate that the cpu is faulty or could there be another reason? All drivers are up to date, malaware has been checked for. Could this have been caused by the upgrade to Windows 10 altering anything in BIOS? Any advice would be much appreciated.
