SFC Scannow or DISM/RestoreHealth using Image

Windows 10 user. Having some trouble with my system after coming back from a weekend. Nothing major...just having trouble playing some games that require plugins etc

Regardless if it's related, I just wanted to run an SFC/Scannow or DISM/RestoreHealth
I downloaded the image from MS since I know you can't run it natively without an image in 10..at least now. . Want to get everything repaired and in good shape since I am getting a second hard drive for a backup and don't want to backup something that may have issues. For some reason system restore wasnt't automatically making restore points so that is why I just want to do something "drastic" like this and then set up the task under scheduler.

I just want to do it from the command prompt within windows.
For example, what would I need to type into the prompt if I had the image on my desktop? Any assistance is appreciated.

This worked for me: How to repair your system files using Dism and Sfc in build 10041 - Windows 10 Forums

You need to run dism against the wim in your iso like this (replacing the X with the drive of your ISO).

    So...

    DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth /source:WIM:X:\Sources\Install.wim:1 /LimitAccess

    then:

    sfc /scannow

Aww hey thank you for putting it into those terms for me. I think I did see this somewhere else, but didn't completely understand what to do. I will burn the image I downloaded last night onto a DVD and try it out. Not sure why I didn't burn it already. I usually know to do this

You can alternatively put it on a USB if you want: USB Flash Drive - Create to Install Windows 10 - Windows 10 Forums

Eventually (in some future build when it is fixed) you will not have to specify the ISO, DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth will be enough - it will find what is missing from MS servers.

Triple boot - Win 10 Pro, Win 10 Pro Insider (2) - (and a sprinkling of VMs)

You can also just mount it, wherever the ISO is located. The drive letter assigned after mount (see MY PC for that) is the letter you substitute for "X".

Don't really need to burn it to use it for DISM.
