I cannot find any restore point files in C:\System Volume Information\SystemRestore
    Where are the files?

Hello, have you enabled System Restore? It's off by default in Win 10, disabled on each major upgrade and on doing an in-place upgrade repair install.

People here recommend 3rd party disk imaging for preference. Sure, they are very different- System Restore can be useful when it works, but can prove unreliable. Disk imaging addresses everything you image- system restore only certain aspects of your disk or partition.

Note that restore points are not created routinely with Windows updates as formerly. Some report restore points being lost from time to time.

There are already six restore points on my Windows 10, but C:\System Volume Information\SystemRestore contains no files but an empty folder named 'FRStaging'.

What they said was 'System Volume Information', which I already know. However, it contains no restore point files at my end.

It's not meant to be accessed- that's why it's hidden.
Why do you need to access it? Curiosity?

I just want to see their existence and know their sizes. Does that count as accessing them?
