    Hi

Screenshots as requested showing said devices with no issues and all saying drivers ok plus scrennshiot of Intel graphics driver info

Unfortunately I cant turn anything off or on or disable enable anything when CPU usage goes haywire so cant turn them off one by one and show screenshots but what i have done is disable them while CPU is low and no configuration stops the issueClick image for larger version.

It looks as though your PC has not been approved for Win 10 use:
Lenovo supported systems list for Windows 10 Upgrade - Lenovo Support (US)
Can you confirm? Has it worked satisfactorily previously?
An H520 is listed, not H520s.. but yours came, I think, with Win 8.

Can you confirm you've tried this:
My computer got so slow that the mouse was slow and jerky and I had to reboot. System interrupts was at about 30% CPU time. My PC is now with 5 days uptime and the bug seems to have disappeared. The following solution seems to solve the issue :

    1. Right-click on the speaker icon
    2. Select playback devices
    3. Click on the speaker properties
    4. Go to the enhancements Tab
    5. Click Disable All Sound Effects
    6. Click OK. You're done!

Do have a look thru this thread (one of the ones I posted earlier) - it may suggest sthg:

I recently read about a similair problem on another forum and the problem was Onedrive.

Try disabling Onedrive and restart the computer, let me know if it helped

You might want to save files on Onedrive locally if you're using it. Don't know if it will delete files when disabling it.

    Good luck!

    Hi
I assumed that meant lenovo wouldn't support Windows 10 not that it wouldn't work but perhaps I am wrong. If that is the case it's too late to downgrade so I'm in trouble

Windows 10 worked fine when I first installed it and for several months after however. I have tried the disabling sound effects but it didn't help.
I have downloaded kernview and latency monitor and will run them and post any useful news
I have also turned Onedrive off

If your PC worked fine with Win 10 and no heating problems, then looks like you're in luck. I've no idea what the difference is between and H520 and H520s. Maybe Lenovo hasn't tested every variant....

E.g. My 6 year old old laptop came with Vista. But after upgrading to win 8 (no drivers listed by HP), it experienced thermal cutouts - in Safe Mode. Fan running hard.. that's apparently typical of a mismatch of driver and hardware, but ran well if a little warm in normal mode.

If it used to run well, but not now, you might try
    a. Safe Mode
    b. Clean boot
    c. uninstalling Windows updates

    Hi

I did try clean boot ( see earlier post ) and problem vanished but only short term but i did forget safe mode after I was given instructions as to why it wasnt working I will try that

Well I may not be solving my issue but I am sure on a voyage of discovery

I installed and ran LatencyMon and got the following resultsClick image for larger version.

I googled these resul;ts and was told that one solution would be to download and rund driveclean which found and removed old USB registry entries etc but problem still exists.

I was thinking of getting rid of Bitdefender antway so now I will which will solve one of the hard page faults

It also seems a xperf is an option for me to use so I will do that when I can Extreme DPC Latency from USBPORT.SYS and storport.sys

This is now as interesting as it is annoying

Try clean boot and disable the red items in Device manager, then reboot:

IRQ 16 Intel(R) Management Engine Interface

I can confirm that Bitdefender Total Security 2016 is the culprit causing this problem on my system. After disabling the Firewall the CPU load went down immediately. Thanks at gooner1959 for mentioning that disabling Bitdefender solved your problem. I spent the last week trying to get rid of it myself including a full system reinstall
