Windows 10: System repair Disc

System repair Disc
I am trying to create a system repair disc and I keep getting a pop up stating "The disc in the selected drive is not blank. You must erase the disc before you can use it." This is a blank brand new disc. I have tried other discs and it says the same thing. What do I do?

I have never made a system repair disk.
I do regular system image backup and I use it if I have issues I cannot solve.
I read somewhere that you need to use DVD+r, Not DVD-r.
But don't hold me to that.
here is another article found in the web...............
excerpt: Source
However, most of these companies now develop hybrid DVD drives that support both DVD-R and DVD+R formats. They are known as DVD?R or DVD?RW drives. When looking for media for your DVD drive, make sure it ends in "-R" if you have a DVD-R drive or "+R" if you have a DVD+R drive. If you have a DVD?R drive, you can use either format. DVD-R is still more popular than DVD+R, but since they are both widely supported, it should not matter which format you choose.

Can the drive read other discs? If so, I would just burn a regular Windows 10 disc, then keep your data backed up in the best method for your needs. You can repair Window 10 from the install disc.
