Speccy is a good general system information utility - it reports more that just Temps
The other utilities mentioned are also very good - some monitor and create a log.

HWiNFO, HWiNFO32 HWiNFO64 - Hardware Information, Analysis and Monitoring Tools
I find realtemp the best and most accurate. I use Hwinfo64 when testing an overclock, but realtemp any other occasion. It also will give you statistics on c-states, power usage, VID and GPU temp.:

I have Speccy, and I am happy with it, but is there a widget that you can keep on your desktop to always monitor the temp?
Realtemp can put it in your taskbar. You can put it in your start folder and have it come up minimized.
Also there is the coretemp windows 7 sidebar gadget that display cpu temp and load as well as clock speed, vid and ram usage. It can also display it in the taskbar (with and without the gadget).
