    Reduce laptop RAM

I have an old laptop (dual core Celeron), and it only has one job: to display PDF docs for me to read. Win10 at present uses 850 megs, Can I reduce RAM usage even more?

Minimum specs that Microsoft has published for Windows 10 is 1 GB RAM installed for 32 bit Windows 10 and 2 GB RAM installed for 64 bit Windows 10.

Other than eliminating startup programs there is not much you can do to reduce memory usage. And there really isn't any need to. Memory usage in any modern OS is HIGHLY dynamic depending on how much memory you have, what currently running processes are using, what they were doing earlier in the session, and more. That 850 MB usage is valid only under very specific conditions and will vary widely. If a a large application is run the usage of other processes will be trimmed back to meet the demand.

Good enough for me. However, since I'm only using the thing as a doc viewer, I feel I don't need any other Win10 functions i.e. Bluetooth or Windows Search for example, and since I'm not buying RAM for the toaster, thought I could turn services off. But you are right about the dynamic RAM management in todays OS's.
