In task Scheduler there's lot's of media center remnants.
Is it safe to delete these or will this mess up the registry

please any advice will be appreciated.

    Hello mannyrd,

Yes, these entries were carried over from W7 and are not required in W10 because Media Centre is no longer part of W10. You can safely delete these. (Note: you may need to go into the main C:\Windows\System32\Tasks\Microsoft\Windows\Media Center directory to delete some of the subfolders before they can be removed.)

    Philc thanks for your advice

Followed instructions and deleted the folders in system32 no more errors.
will this method work for other program remnants from previous installation ?

Yes you can do the same for any others you find although I'm not sure what others you will find - many are still used by W10. Actually this is one of the reasons I prefer a clean install of W10 - to get rid of the many items that are carried over from W7 or W8.

Used this method to remove the Microsoft Antimalware tasks and folder from my old Win7 instalation
Should have deleted security essentials before the upgrade but forgot.

    Thanks
