    Desktop randomly shuts down

I've been having this issue, where my computer will randomly lose power without warning(or at least that's what it acts like). I'm not sure what is causing it, but I tested the power supply with a multimeter and the voltage is well above the needed amount. when it happens, my CPU is never above 38 degrees Celsius. This happens when plugged into a UPS and when plugged directly into the wall. I don't get an error message, and there is no report about it in the event viewer. I'm stumped. Please help.

    Hi,
Welcome to the forums, one of your memory sticks could be faulty, you have to check them in different combinations to find the faulty one.

I don't think I can do that. The shutdowns are very sporadic, so i would need to run the system for at least a week with each combination to feel the issue has been resolved, so even if i just use 1 stick at a time, it would take me up to a month of running on 4 gigs of ram to test all 8 sticks.

I just ran the windows memory diagnostic tool, and the test said there were no problems. Is there any other way to test them? or do you have any other ideas of what to check? BTW, thanks for the welcome, this is actually my first post.
