    Memory Optimiser

    I have Windows 10 64 bit and use Office 2013 (32 bit). I have 16GB of RAM

When running several workbooks, I often run out of resources. Are there any memory optimisers I can use or can someone advise me how to overcome this problem?

    Your assistance is most appreciated

Resources can include the Virtual Memory/paging file. I haven't had need to check Win10's Help and Support recommendation but with Win7 it was 1.5 times the physical RAM, larger when working with videos, large databases and large spreadsheets. There's a number of folks that say with 16GB one doesn't even need the paging file but in your case it may help without having to purchasing more RAM, hopefully your motherboard would support more than 16GB. My first computer [1992 with MS-DOS 5 and Win3.1] had 4MB RAM and my first issue was WordPerfect for Windows running out of memory when creating the 9th or 10th page of a document, upgraded to 8MB to get by that.

Memory optimizers are worse than useless. Windows 10 has very good memory management and has no need for and will not benefit from a third party memory "optimizer". The only benefit? they provide is to make the numbers in Task Manager more attractive to those who do not understand what they mean.

Post a screenshot of Task Manager - Performance tab showing memory information when the problem occurs.

Let windows automatically manage your page file.

Just install CleanMem Free and forget about it, no need to setup anything.

Thanks. I have downloaded CleanMem and will see how it goes and give feedback once I have used it for a week

Please do not install CleanMem or any other such program. It is inappropriate to install such a program when we have yet to determine the nature of the problem. We don't even know if it is memory related. At best it will cover up (but not solve) the problem and make diagnoses more difficult.

16 GB is a large amount of memory. What is your setup and how do you know it is memory constraint?
Any system message or monitoring output?

I am running Hyper-V and some times 4 to 5 worksheets without any problem.

Would be helpful if you provide additional information?

I agree,, with 16GB of RAM you really shouldn't be having any issues. My question is what are the apps/software are you using when you encounter these issues??

Using a tool like this is just really not a solution, IMO.
