Warp Speed on both my Fans

I just installed Win10 as part of the free upgrade package. I was using Win 7 Pro. Everything seems to be running real well with one exception, both of my fans are running at top speed. Nothing is hot. I checked the temperatures and everything is way in the green, not even close to being hot. Is this a known problem? If so is there a solution? I guess other than my fans wearing out sooner than normal it isn't a major problem but I'd like to fix it if possible.

Hi hapiper have you had a look at your fan settings in your bios ? most will have settings to reduce fan speeds and most have smart technology for the cpu fan what's the motherboard you are using?

I'm not aware that this is a known problem. It is more likely to be due to a motherboard driver needing an update or for a W10 version to be applied rather than using a previous W7 driver. Can you check on the Manufacturer's site for your motherboard and see what W10 drivers they supply.

Fans are likely set at max speed but it would be worth checking that you do not have 100% CPU or 100% disk activity going on in the background by running Task Manager. 100% CPU could be the reason the fans keep up at high speed and could be caused by some other problem.

Sounds like you have a driver or app that's locking up - getting in a cpu intensive busy loop. The fans are just keeping the CPU cool as it works hard going in circles.

You could go into task manager / resource monitor to diagnose -or- do a system recovery, keep nothing to get a clean win 10 install.
