Slow shutdown after upgrading to Windows 10
Slow shutdown after upgrading to Windows 10 on my T61p
T61p, T9500, SSD
Updated Windows 7 Pro 32 to Windows 10 Pro 32 in place. All works well after a couple of
tweeks. Only tweek I did not like was having to disable "Allow the computer to turn off this
device to save power" on the 4965AGN WiFi card.
Boot is good. 30 seconds till Windows 10 up, 40 seconds total for HDD light to go quiet.
Shutdown is odd. Only takes a couple seconds for desktop to shutdown and the screen to
go black. It appears to be shutdown but it isn't. LEDs and fan stay on for 77 seconds. HDD
random flickers throughout then about a 10 second HDD LED before it actually powers down.
Ran - "sfc /scannow" - Nothing found
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\WaitToKillServiceTimeout=1000
Shutdown from safemode - Fast
Shutdown from safemode with networking - Fast
So it appears something is hanging during shutdown.
How do I go about getting a log of the shutdown processes to determine
what is hanging during shutdown?
